ABOUT
Murders in Massachusetts
Massachusetts is known as the birthplace of America—rich in history, tradition, and identity. But beneath that history, there are stories that don’t make it into textbooks.
Stories that never fully fade.
Stories that still linger in the towns we think we know.
I’m Jonathan Power, creator, executive producer, and host of Murders in Massachusetts.
I’ve spent years following true crime—not just the headlines, but the details beneath them. The moments that don’t always make it into the final report. The questions that remain long after the news cycle moves on.
That fascination started early—watching the O.J. Simpson verdict unfold live in a classroom, realizing in real time how powerful, complicated, and imperfect the intersection of media, justice, and human behavior can be.
From there, it never really left.
Over time, I found myself drawn not just to high-profile cases—but to the stories closer to home.
The ones that unfolded on quiet streets.
In familiar neighborhoods.
In towns where nothing like that is supposed to happen.
And yet… it did.
Murders in Massachusetts was created to bring those stories back into focus.
This isn’t just about what happened.
It’s about where it happened—and how those places continue to carry the weight of it.
Because these cases don’t exist in isolation.
They become part of the fabric of the community.
And in many cases… they’re still unresolved.
This podcast takes a local lens to true crime—revisiting cases across Massachusetts with a deeper perspective.
Some episodes are standalone.
Others unfold over time.
Because not every story has an ending.
And for some…
the investigation continues.
What You Can Expect

Why This Matters
True crime isn’t just about curiosity.
It’s about remembering.
It’s about understanding.
And sometimes… it’s about keeping attention on cases that still need answers.
Because behind every story is a person.
A family.
A community that was changed forever.
Listener Note
This podcast discusses real crimes, including homicide and, in some cases, crimes involving children.
Listener discretion is advised.
Every town has a story.
This is where we tell them.
